„Bilder der Kunst werden immer mehr vervielfältigt, zitiert und verwertet. Es ist als wolle man so die Vergänglichkeit überlisten durch ständig wiederholbare Gegenwart. Doch mich fasziniert gerade die Einmaligkeit eines Bildes, seine Entstehung und das nicht mehr Veränderbare, auch seine Verletzbarkeit und Vergänglichkeit – eben das Ereignis eines Originals.“
